On Dec. 9th 2022, BIBA conducted a webinar summarizing the Human-Robot Collaboration in Industrial Ecosystems Use Case carried out as the part of RAINBOW project.

The aim of the use case was to convert a centralized monolithic industrial application to a fog computing solution with the integration of RAINBOW, therefore, proving capabilities of RAINBOW.

The webinar started with an introduction to human-robot collaboration. The introduction gave an explanation to what human-robot collaboration is and how it can be used in industrial ecosystems with examples.

Next, the webinar continued with the presentation of use case specific applications. Use case 1 has developed a collision prediction and avoidance system between personnel and robots, which was explained in the presentation. Furthermore, the challenges and benefits of the fog computing approach and integration of RAINBOW with the applications are examined.

Finally, the webinar ended with 2 video demonstrations. First video demonstrated the deployment of the use case applications through RAINBOW web interface. Second video demonstrated the use case applications in action, where actual robots are shown to be controlled by the use case applications.
